Our purpose

Give the world a safer clean.

Here at Koh we're on a mission to give the world the best possible clean without compromising on safety - for our families and our planet. Read on to learn more about how we work towards achieving our purpose.

Reduce

We challenge the cleaning industry norms that insist we need a cupboard-full of unnecessary products to effectively clean your home. Koh cleaning solutions are truly universal, doing the job of many so you can do more, with less. Other cleaning brands don’t want you to know that buying less is the very best we can do to protect our planet.

Reuse

Our cleaning systems are designed to be reused over and over again. We spend time developing top quality, professional grade tools that stand the test of time. This means you’re saving single-use plastic tools, or poor quality reusable tools from heading to landfill and polluting our environment.

Recycle

We want to make sure our products have a considered end of life strategy that is accessible so absolutely everyone can dispose of our packaging responsibly (that’s right - no complicated and cumbersome packaging returns programs here).

Our packaging is proudly designed to use less plastic than traditional cleaning products and our refill pouches use innovative Roll’n’Recycle technology to make them 100% kerbside recyclable in Australia (it’s so clever we’ve won awards!)

Safety

Did you know 1 in 10 Aussies suffer from asthma and allergies and 1 in 5 experience chemical sensitivities and suffer from health problems from exposure to common chemicals and synthetic fragrances in cleaning products. That’s why we developed our science-backed cleaning solutions to be fume, fragrance and chemical nasty free so we could be sure it is a safer choice for our families. Our solutions are proudly certified by Asthma Australia’s Sensitive Choice Program, Allergy UK and our Universal Laundry Liquid is dermatologically tested to be suitable for even the most sensitive of skin.

Being free from chemical nasties also means we’re reducing harmful, toxic cleaning chemicals from entering and polluting our waterways; which means Koh is not only a safer choice for your family but our planet too.

We’re proudly GECA certified, a rigorous independent assessment that proves we’re a healthier, more ethical and environmental choice by testing us on:

Environmental standards (toxicity, recyclability, water consumption)

Social impacts (ethical working conditions)

Human health (including the effects of toxic chemicals)

Plastic Rescue

As of April 2024, for every order placed we rescue the equivalent of 3 x 500ml plastic bottles that are ocean bound through our partnership with Greenspark and Plastic Bank. Plastic Bank helps coastal communities in Haiti, Brazil, the Philippines and Indonesia earn a fair, sustainable income by collecting plastic waste. Their collectors receive a premium for the materials they collect which helps them provide basic family necessities. The collected material is reborn as Social Plastic® which can be easily reintegrated into products and packaging as part of a closed-loop supply chain.

Reforestation

Between 2020 and 2024 we partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects and planted one tree for every order. Deforestation is one of the greatest threats to our planet, is often overlooked and is occurring at an alarming rate. Trees are what keeps our earth home clean, filtering the air we breathe and water we drink and absorb our carbon emissions. Through our reforestation projects in Nepal, Africa and Indonesia we also create a source of work and income for local communities.

Give back

Koh is a proud partner of Good360, each year we donate brand new cleaning supplies to be distributed to charities, schools and society’s most vulnerable who really need them. Read more about the people in need that we have helped through Good360 here. Our Koh HQ team also heads over a few times a year to the Good360 distribution centres to help pick and pack goods to be distributed.
